An extensive two-month journey around the Land Down Under is being halted in the wake of the tragic passing of an elderly woman who was stranded by the cruise liner on a isolated coastal location.

The passenger had been trekking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the party for a pause. The vessel sailed away leaving her and came back later that day after the ship staff discovered the passenger was unaccounted for.

An extensive hunt found her remains the subsequent day.

Officials are investigating the event, together with investigators and the state coroner.

The CEO of the shipping company announced that passengers and crew on the Coral Adventurer were told that the rest of the voyage had been called off due to the "sad loss and prior technical problems".

Through an announcement, he mentioned that guests would be given a full refund, and said the company was working "to coordinate the travel back of the travelers via specially arranged planes".

Officials also issued an updated communication, and said they had "provided a directive to the Master" preventing any further travelers from getting on the vessel.

The official said that they would visit the vessel in the Australian city upon its arrival.

The vessel first departed Cairns on October 24th, and was only 48 hours into the voyage at the point of the elderly woman's death. The remote island was the initial destination on the voyage.

Guests on the vessel - who typically pay large sums of dollars to take part in the voyage - were transported there for a daily excursion with the possibility of trekking or snorkelling.

Relatives Response

The offspring of the elderly passenger said that her loved ones was "stunned and grieved that the ship left the location after an scheduled tour without my mum".

Via her announcement, she characterized her parent as an "vigorous octogenarian" who was a participant of a bushwalking organization.

"Based on limited information we have been provided, it appears that there was a failure of attention and basic judgment," she stated.

She further stated that she desired the investigation would be able to pinpoint what "the company should have undertaken that might have preserved Her life".

"According to reports from the investigators that it was a very hot day, and mum became unwell on the uphill trek," she explained.
